Selections from Telepathe’s album Dance Mother are being featured in new ads for Incase‘ product line. The ads chronicle a group of friends in NYC documenting their experiences with their video iPhones – the first effort finds them strapping the iPhone to a rocket in a winter wonderland. The second ad journeys from Willamsburg to the Lower East Side across the Brooklyn Bridge. All the while, their video iPhones are catching every moment as they’re strapped to their mopeds, being protected by Incase products.
The ads for the hip and hardy, travel-friendly cases for iPods and other gadgets are perfectly set to “Can’t Stand It”, “Devil’s Trident (The Big Pink Specialization Reality)” and “Lights Go Down”.
Check out the first 2 of 3 ads below, and look out for the final installment on March 22.
Billboard Magazine recently featured our sister label, IAMSOUND Records as one of their up-and-coming indie labels in 2010. The feature focused on indie imprints chosen by their distributors that are re-defining the music marketplace in these harsh economic times. IAMSOUND was chosen by RED Distribution to be a leader in 2010, based on their success as indie tastemakers over the last year.
There’s no doubt that the last few years have been very magical for IAMSOUND, who released new music by some of the music’s best new artists including Florence And The Machine, Little Boots, Telepathe, Fool’s Gold, and many others.
The new year looks to be just as amazing. 2010 plans for IAMSOUND include fresh albums from the newly-signed Salem and electro-goddesses Telepathe, as well as a series 7-inch singles released in conjunction with Pure Groove Records, the first of which featuring LA locals We Are The World. Check out the full feature from Billboard Magazine.

Telepathe’s Dance Mother was recently rated #47 on NME’s Top 50 of 2009. Hailed as “a record that shimmers with possibilities, mapping out an alien territory that’s eerily inviting,” Dance Mother “sounds like 2009 for the chief reason that it doesn’t sound like anything else that’s come before it.” You can purchase the album on iTunes from IAMSOUND Records. Today’s a big day for our sister label IAMSOUND – they’ve got so much going on!
Now, in no particular order, let’s go through them… Released today is Telepathe’s debut full-length album Dance Mother. It’s been available digitally for a couple months now but CDs and LPs are in stores today, and we know that you, as a true music fan, want to hold a physical CD or vinyl in your hands! It’s been getting rave reviews in the press, and they will be going on a headlining US tour in June (dates at the bottom) .
“Dance Mother is an avant-garde/hip-hop hybrid and a big ol’ pile of conflicting elements that seamlessly melt together into one gorgeous – and infections – drone. . . Though each song wafts with the familiarity of influences, not one feels like a rehash, or a gimmick, making Dance Mother true avant-pop brilliance.” – Bust
“Telepathe’s debut feels fresh: They bring TV on the Radio-style cacophony, Cocteau Twins-esque vocals, and their own dazzling electronic to winning tracks like ‘So Fine’ and ‘In Your Line’” – Details
Speaking of debut releases, Suckers have their self-titled debut EP in stores today! This four-track CD, produced by Anand Wilder of Yeasayer, has been the talk of the blogs and music critics everywhere, garnering a Best New Music recommendation on Pitchfork for “It Gets Your Body Movin’” and “Band to Watch” status on Stereogum.
The band will also be having a residency this July at Piano’s in NYC, playing every Thursday, as well as upcoming shows with MGMT, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, and others.
Both Suckers and Telepathe will be having record release parties, with Telepathe’s tomorrow night (the 15th) at The Annex with Popo and Frances the Wolf, and Suckers’ party on the 23rd at Glasslands in Brooklyn with Tanlines and a Yeasayer DJ set, as well as free Colt 45.
Last but certainly not least is Little Boots’sArecibo EP, out on 12-inch vinyl. Areceibo was originally released in November of last year and it sold out so quickly through the IAMSOUND website and select stores around the country that IAMSOUND are re-releasing it today, nationwide in stores!
To say that the buzz around Little Boots has been rising is an understatement; along with a run of very successful SXSW shows (including a Perez Hilton party duet with Kid Cudi), Little Boots has been named a “Rising Star” by Access Hollywood, a “Breaking Artist” by Rolling Stone, a Top Ten Music Pick for 2009 by NME, and countless other accolades (not to mention, of course, the FADER cover, the BBC pick, etc.)
