IAMSOUND darlings and LA locals Fool’s Gold are already off to a great start in 2010, garnering a #4 slot on BuzzBands‘ list of the best LA releases of 2009. This honor comes as no surprise to those of us already aware of the magic of this unique African-inspired collective. Take a look at the video for their single “Surprise Hotel” below.
Taking the #1 spot on the BuzzBands end-of-the-year list is ‘Before Nightfall,’ the major label debut from LA native Robert Francis, which was produced by Worlds End client Dave Sardy.
Fool’s Gold recently released a UK-exclusive 7″ single for “Surprise Hotel“, which has been selling like hot cakes. As a result of their overseas popularity, The Guardian UK has chosen Fool’s Gold as the band to watch in 2010! Their debut album will be released in the UK on January 25th and the band has a series of tour dates scheduled around London at the end of the month. Don’t miss this extraordinary opportunity to see the live show everyone in London will surely be talking about.
Just in time for the Halloween season, the film Zombieland is the one to watch. Echoing the hilarity of the rom-zom-com Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland is Ruben Fleischer’s directorial debut, with Worlds End’s Dave Sardy composing the film score. The film stars Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, and Emma Stone, with a cameo appearance by Bill Murray as one the the infected. Zombieland attacks theaters October 2nd.
Worlds End producer client DAVE SARDY is gearing up to score ‘Zombieland’ for Sony Pictures. The “zombie comedy” directed by Ruben Fleischer is currently slated for a 2010 release , and will star Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin, and Mila Kunis.
On the heels of recently completing production on the new Crash Kings album for Custard, and Robert Francis’s major label debut for Atlantic, Dave is set to produce a new Black Angels album in April, all of which are due for release later this year.
