Billboard Magazine recently featured our sister label, IAMSOUND Records as one of their up-and-coming indie labels in 2010. The feature focused on indie imprints chosen by their distributors that are re-defining the music marketplace in these harsh economic times. IAMSOUND was chosen by RED Distribution to be a leader in 2010, based on their success as indie tastemakers over the last year.
There’s no doubt that the last few years have been very magical for IAMSOUND, who released new music by some of the music’s best new artists including Florence And The Machine, Little Boots, Telepathe, Fool’s Gold, and many others.
The new year looks to be just as amazing. 2010 plans for IAMSOUND include fresh albums from the newly-signed Salem and electro-goddesses Telepathe, as well as a series 7-inch singles released in conjunction with Pure Groove Records, the first of which featuring LA locals We Are The World. Jennifer’s Body had a screening in Los Angeles on Tuesday, September 15th, and when asked about her latest film, writer-producer Diablo Cody had this to say, “It’s a dream come true. I used to have a Freddy Krueger T-shirt that I cut up with scissors to make it look like I had been slashed, so yes, this whole process seemed more rational to me.”
“Kiss With a Fist” by Florence & The Machine is the opening track off the soundtrack. The film hits theatres everywhere today.
Florence & the Machine’s track “Kiss with a fist” is in the Megan Fox movie Jennifer’s Body. The soundtrack was released this week and the movie opens September 18th. Check out the trailer below.
NME reports that Florence And The Machine will be performing at the London Proud Gallery on Thursday, May 7. This intimate performance is part of the Camden venue’s Smash And Grab club night.
Florence And The Machine will release their debut album in the UK on July 6th.
Our sister label IMASOUNDRecords have released Florence and The Machine’s new EP “A Lot of Love. A Lot of Blood!”. It’s available on iTunes and on 12-inch vinyl in record stores across America… so go out and grab it!!!
The EP is a collection of her past two previously released singles (“Kiss With A Fist” and “Dog Days Are Over”) as well as a new remix of Dog Days by the very talented Optimo.

“Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)” which just premiered on the BBC’s Radio 1 this week has been tagged as the first single, and will be made available on June 22nd.

IAMSOUND Records To Release King Night by Salem On September 28th
Salem, the Traverse City/Chicago based trio have announced the worldwide release of their debut album King Night, out September 28th on IAMSOUND Records. Mixed by Dave Sardy, the album accents Salem's ability to create chilling soundscapes, striking a delicate balance between menacing and serene.
