Suckers Soak Up The Press

After their hailed performances at CMJ 2009 and on tour opening for fellow-Brooklynites White Rabbits, Suckers are reveling in all the attention they have received over the past few months. Check out what music magazines and blogs are saying about these eclectic space-cadets:

“An ambitious amalgam of hippie rock, rowdy noise, and just enough grooves to, as their song goes, “Get Your Body Movin’.”"

-Spin

“These guys are…homing in on the New Wave sweet spot between Madness and Tears For Fears.”

-Rolling Stone

“Yelpy vocals. Worldly percussion. Triumphant horns. Listening to Suckers’ debut EP…is like listening to a late-00s indie-rock greatest hits sampler.”

-Pitchfork

“There’s something wonderfully off about this power-pop quartet with its soaring three-part harmonies and manic rhythms.”

-Paste

“In a world where emulation is all too prevalent from artist to artist, Suckers stands out, taking a bold stance against the formulaic trash that much of modern music has become.”

-URB

IAMSOUND Records act SUCKERS recently stopped by the Daytrotter studios and recorded a four-song session with them. Three of the songs are brand new songs (so get on it if you have listened to the original four-song EP to death and have been fiending for more), and the fourth song is, of course, the ‘classic’ song “It Gets Your Body Movin’”.

Head over to Daytrotter.com and check it out.
