After their hailed performances at CMJ 2009 and on tour opening for fellow-Brooklynites White Rabbits, Suckers are reveling in all the attention they have received over the past few months. Check out what music magazines and blogs are saying about these eclectic space-cadets:
“An ambitious amalgam of hippie rock, rowdy noise, and just enough grooves to, as their song goes, “Get Your Body Movin’.”"
“In a world where emulation is all too prevalent from artist to artist, Suckers stands out, taking a bold stance against the formulaic trash that much of modern music has become.”

IAMSOUND Records act SUCKERS recently stopped by the Daytrotter studios and recorded a four-song session with them. Three of the songs are brand new songs (so get on it if you have listened to the original four-song EP to death and have been fiending for more), and the fourth song is, of course, the ‘classic’ song “It Gets Your Body Movin’”.
Scarily enough, 2009 is half over already! Kicking off the second half of the year though, is a residency this month at Piano’s in NYC with Suckers. The band will be playing every Thursday this month, beginning today (the 9th), with a variety of musical peers, including Wild Yaks, Hexa, Sean Bones, Acrylics and many others.
Click below to check out the video flyer. With their recent write-up in Rolling Stone as well as a Daytrotter session (which will be out next week), you can be sure that this will be the residency to be at in NY! Beginning at next week’s show on the 16th, they will be giving away free posters and mixtape CDs.
