Rumspringa will bring their stripped-down, groove-based rock music to Austin for this year’s SXSW music festival. They will be playing at the Cantora Records SXSW showcase at 12:00 midnight on Friday, March 19th at Maggie Mae’s Gibson Room. Be sure to check out their official SXSW profile and get out and support these L.A. locals to see what is sure to be a memorable performance.
Rumspringa has just finished recording their full-length debut album, ‘Sway’ with Worlds End producer Manny Nieto (HEALTH, The Breeders), which is set to be released on Cantora Records sometime this summer. W.E.C.L. is happy to bring you new music from L.A. roots rockers Rumspringa, fresh out of the studio. The band worked with Worlds End producer Manny Nieto to put together this engaging collection of hypnotic, blues-heavy songs for their forthcoming album.
While each track takes on its own vibe, as a whole, the new album deconstructs everything that we’ve come to expect from guitar-drums duos in the past, replacing these expectations with solid grooves that define Rumspringa’s Americana style.

Rumspringa is being featured in a new blog from BMI featuring indie artists. The band, whom BMI describes as a “thrilling, liberating sound” just played to a packed house at the famous Roxy on the Sunset Strip over the weekend. With Joey Stevens taking the role of guitarist as well as vocalist, and Itaru de la
Vega on the drums, the two brought Rumspringa to life, citing such
inspirations as Johnny Cash and John Lee Hooker. Traveling from Los Angeles
to Brooklyn, they had the opportunity to play their music for people with a
hankering for soulful rock. Signed to Cantora Records, the band was able to
make their music video “Minds Awake” a hit; it was even featured on the
queen of gossip Perez Hilton’s blog. They recently inked a deal with Worlds
End Management, hope you caught their set this last weekend at Sunset
Junction.
