Sunny Day Sets Fireare releasing their debut album Summer Palace in the UK on February 23rd. Take a look at some of the great reviews they are getting over there below. The song “Adrenaline”was made Single of the Week on BBC Radio 1 last week as well! Summer Palace is in stores now in America.
“Whether slipping The Flaming Lips’ euophoria into the morning glory of ‘Teenagers Talking’ or letting ‘Mandarins’ fold over itself in a palimpsest of glittering guitars and childlike enthusiasm like Band of Horses let loose in a Lego shop…and how did they make ‘Wilderness’ sound boundlessly euphoric but not cloying and annoying? They must be wizards.” - NME
“This London-based band reiagine the best moments of Swedish indie pop and shake up its shy sensibilities with buoyant limbs and bright eyes.” – Word Magazine
“What’s really impressive is that they have managed to blend all these styles into an album that still feels like a complete album and not forced or thrown together.” – Drowned In Sound

White Lies and Florence And The Machine performed a duet February 6th on the Shockwaves NME Awards Tour in Manchester.
Playing the city’s Academy venue, singer Florence Welch joined the Londonband onstage midway through their opening song ‘Unfinished Business’. Adding her unique touch to the song, Florence was thanked by White Lies front man Harry McVeigh, who announced: “She’s the greatest singer on this tour”.
The favour was later returned by White Lies at Florence And The Machine’s
secret gig at the nearby Lost & Found club night, a set that was watched by
locals The Courteeners and tour mates Friendly Fires. Florence And The Machine’s first set of the night, meanwhile, kick-started the Shockwaves NME Awards Tour gig to a packed venue.
Accompanied by a harp, the London singer previewed tracks from her
forthcoming debut album, including previous single ‘Kiss With A Fist’,
before closing with ‘Dog Days Are Over’.
Little Boots made her LA debut this week with a performance at Club NME Los Angeles with Fred Perry Subculture last night (February 4).
The petite singer packed a punch with her ready-for-the-dancefloor tunes from her debut EP including ‘Magical’ and ‘Mathematics’. Backed by a drummer and keyboardist, the solo project from Dead Disco frontwoman Victoria Hesketh won over the packed house, which included members of No Doubt, Mika and Lily Allen producer Greg Kurstin.
“This is exciting. It’s my first proper gig in LA,” Hesketh said. “I come to LA quite a lot so it feels like a homecoming even though I’ve never played here.” The crowd cheered and danced with their hands in the air throughout most of Little Boots 40-minute set, and booed in disappointment when she announced she would be playing her last tune. “This is a little song I can’t quite fathom,” she said when introducing her hit ‘Stuck On Repeat’, which got the whole crowd hopping.
“Meddle” & “Stuck On Repeat” are available through IAMSOUND Records on iTUNES now.
