Fool’s Gold Heading To Austin For SXSW

L.A.’s own Fool’s Gold is currently riding the wave of press that has been flowing in, as they gear up for their anticipated SXSW performance.  Ever since the release of their self-titled debut album on IAMSOUND Records, Fool’s Gold has been highly-touted for their ability to flawlessly merge ethnic sounds with western pop aesthetics, creating a delightful blend of indie Afro-pop.

Check out this article from The Village Voice comparing the music of Fool’s Gold to the more traditional Tinariwen.  Fool’s Gold recently opened for Tinariwen for a few New York shows, charming many lucky World Music enthusiasts who were lucky enough to catch these shows.

Fool’s Gold was also recently featured at KROQ.com, as a band to watch and a new obsession of some of the local Los Angeles deejays.
